Rachel Brown Oleson is the wife of Willie Oleson.
Willie Oleson and Rachel Brown's wedding.
Biography[]
Rachel was the daughter-in-law of Harriet and Nels Oleson. Her father was a farmer in the area; her mother is deceased, said to have been killed during the Great Tornado of 1886.
Her family was poor, but she was beautiful and kind, and Willie was smitten with her personality and fell in love with her. Harriet disliked Rachel because of her background and that, because if they married, Willie wouldn't be going to college. She tries at least twice to meddle into things, but Willie – both times, with Rachel in hand – stands his ground, and the two are eventually married, with Nancy as matron of honor and Isaiah Edwards as best man. (Episode 921: May I Have This Dance?)
It was never spoken out loud, but it seems Mrs. Oleson has stopped hating her. Willie and Rachel settle at the boarding house Laura opens, and she soon becomes a partner in helping manage both the Mercantile and Nellie's Hotel-Restaurant.
